Disco

Eindelijk vakantie. Gisteren om vier uur heb ik mijn laatste paper ingediend en heb nu 10 daagjes verlof voor ik weer een weekje naar de unief moet. Dan is het to 15 augustus, wanneer mijn tweede stage begint.
Gisterenmorgend heb ik in supertempo doorgewerkt om alles gedaan te krijgen zodat ik om 2 uur naar de Disco bij Thomas op school kon (zie foto's). de kinderen hadden hun lokaal mooi ingericht met discoballen en slingers en hadden heel wat dansjes geoefend voor de disco, zoals 'Blame it on the Boogie'... heel amusant!
Vandaag zijn Thomas en ik een dagje thuis gebleven voor complete rust en om het huis wat op te kuisen. Nog twee dagen school en het is wintervakantie.
We kijken er al naar uit!

stage gedaan

Vandaag was de laatste dag van mijn stage. Moe maar tevreden heb ik een heleboel inkopen gedaan zodat ik tot dinsdag de stad niet meer in moet en elke minuut van de dag aan mijn papers kan werken (nog twee te gaan).
Mijn leraars (begeleiders) hadden een kadootje gekocht voor de baby, wat superlief was. Gelukkig had ik een paar dozen 'merci'-chocolaatjes mee voor hen.
Thomas telt de dagen af tot mijn stage gedaan is...hij kijkt er enorm naar uit dat we wat meer tijd voor elkaar gaan hebben.

Er zijn genoeg kopies voor wie er eentje wilt. En we kunnen er altijd bijmaken.

Here are some of the latest photos of Thomas. Admittedly, with everything going on in the last few months, I haven't taken as many photos as usual.
An update on Thomas:
He is loving school. His teacher Mrs Curry came back from India this week after six weeks away and all the kids were very happy about that. The little chickens at school are growing bigger fast. The little chicken that the kids called mrs Curry turned out to be a rooster, so they had to change its name to Mister Curry. His Japanese is improving quickly; he can now tell us all the colours in Japanese. Tomorrow he will start music lessons at school; he wanted to play the saxophone, but he will have to wait a few years, because it is too heavy. So he will probably go for the piano now. This week they were learning about opposites at school and on our way to and from school we have to ask him all the opposites. He is getting really good too, coming up with some amazing answers (smooth-wrinkly).
I was telling Alan yesterday, that having Thomas around the house is like having an instruction manual that talks. He loves explaining and demonstrating how everything works. Very exhausting sometimes when i am trying to concentrate on studies or preparing for school. This week he brought home some experiments with dry ice and our kitchen was turned into a science lab while he was showing me how the experiment worked.
At home he is really getting into lego, building some really good houses. He loves David Attenborough videos, especially about bugs, Ben10 and all the superheroes. He is still into dinosaurs and aliens (I still cannot convince him that some humans are good. He thinks humans are bad...no point trying to tell him we are human). And he tries to get on my computer every chance he gets to play the studio100-games.
He is a great help around the house; stacking the dishwasher, setting the table, making his bed, cleaning up toys and feeding animals.
Today he is off to the local flea market trying to sell one of his roosters (only 8 to go). He is very excited when he makes himself some money (he calls it bucks)and is saving up for something big (I assume it will be a spaceship).

Junior

Today I finally had my first (and only) scan of 'junior'. Here are some photos of the new addition to our family. We can also confirm that it is most likely going to be a girl. Thomas is extremely happy with the thought of a sister and told us it is what he has always wanted.

Ondertussen loopt de paasvakantie op zijn einde. 1 weekje is nu eenmaal niet lang.
Ik heb mijn laatste paper gelukkig woensdag afgekregen zodat ik toch een paar daagjes vakantie had, maar ondertussen was ons huis wel een regelrecht slachtveld. Dus staat er nu kuisen op het programma.
Thomas kijkt al weer uit naar school en heeft deze vakantie al heel wat getraind voor de loopwedstrijd op 8 mei. Hij heeft ook besloten geen bier meer te drinken tot dan, want hij zegt dat winnaars niet drinken. (alsof hij bier drinkt!)
Maandag heb ik mijn eerste onderzoek in de kliniek en dan maak ik wellicht een afspraak voor mijn scan binnen 2 weken. (op 18 weken). Dan zullen we wellicht weten of het een jongen of een meisje is en wanneer ze de keizersnede zullen plannen.
